"Reborn Pyrrhic" (pyrrhic)

Enter: 2007 BMW 328xi Touring (aka wagon). Silver colored, automatic, 66,000 miles, $14,998 asking price. I'll be asking CarMax tomorrow how much they want for their MaxCare extended warranty for this wagon, but would it be worthy? It's a BMW out of warranty so I imagine yes.
(not actual car pictured, but same color)

Pre refresh? Yeah I'd do it.

That engine is about as reliable as anything put in a German car. The GM automatic is also quite sturdy. I can't speak for xDrive, but these are not costly cars to own. There was just a recall for N52 vanos screws, by the way. I'd keep an eye out for a RWD Manuél, but this is a very practical car in terms of space, cost of ownership, and bad-weather usability.

Yes. It's not a Toyota.

I own an '07 328i sedan.. Coming up on 73k I have no issues whatsoever.. Rock solid, no need for the warranty. If it had an N54 (335i) I'd go for the warranty if it wasn't too much.
Also, try to find manuél RWD. They DO exist...
Also, if it's decently optioned.. Nice price.

While I would love a manual wagon this needs to be automatic because it will be my wife's daily driver.

the recall was 2010-2012 models, weirdly enough. You'd think the issue would be in the early life of the engine.. Not near the end.

very nice, especially the xenons, those are always lovely to have. Let me know if you have any questions about the car, I'd love to help. I don't know if AWD is a requirement, but if it is I suggest picking up a set of springs/shocks to help fix the floaty feeling from the (still sporty and fun) Xi suspension.

While I am now living in southern Virginia and most winters here are mild, where a set of winter tires on a BMW will do just fine, this will be my wife's daily driver and I know she is not the best driver around. Whether it's a few slippery days in the winter or a puddle of standing water on a curve, I'd prefer her to be driving a car that sends power to the front wheels, even if just momentarily.

ah I'm up in northern Virginia, running great all-seasons (conti DWS) has treated me fine so far but yeah I definitely understand. Good luck with the search!

Best all seasons for all seasons. Had a set and loved them. I've since switched cars and went to a dedicated snow and a more aggressive all season for summer setup. Hankook Ventus Noble s2.
Trying to talk the wife into putting a set of the DWS-eseses on her Volvo.

they really are great. My RWD bmw handles the white stuff excellently if I drive carefully, and the grip in the dry is good too. The performance is good in the summer too, which I always appreciate :)
